Thankful for Mom

I am so excited today! Why you ask? Because my mom is flying in today!!!! I am so thankful to have such a wonderful mom and friend. She treats my children so well and is a wonderful Grandma. My Savannah misses her so much. Everyday she talks to her Grandma on the phone and asks her "Grandma, you here? You see me?" My mom felt so bad, she booked these tickets last week to be here this weekend! We got them for $166.00 round trip from Akron to Tampa.  So today, when Savannah asks where Grandma is I can say "She's here!".

What is the best travel deal you've got?

What is the best memory you have of your mom?

My mom and the kids last visit.

  1. 1. I don't travel anywhere...sigh

    2. Hmmm...I was never close to my mom...she's is/was not the motherly type, nor grandmotherly either...my dad, God rest his soul, was the glue in our family!!

  2. How wonderful that your mom is coming for a visit. I know the kids will be thrilled to see her.

That is a fantastic deal for the RT ticket, I'm usually happy if I can find a deal under $400.

  3. 1) I don't travel much. Mostly just day trips via the automobile. The best place to buy gas locally is at Safeway. I earn a discount based on my spending. Recently, it was 40cents off a gallon. Yahoo!
    2) I love your photo. I have one like that, too, of my mother reading to my girls when they were little. It was bedtime. All three of them were in their jammies. Priceless!
Happy Thankful Thursday... and have a great three day weekend!!!!

  4. Aww mom visits are the best! Best deal I got traveling is getting free airline tickets because of family working at the airport. And I have so many wonderful memories, but watching her be a grandma to my boys means the most! Found your blog on Grace Alone. Have a great weekend!

  5. I can't recall a great travel deal ever. Yup, everytime I travel it has to be around the time that the kids are off, and it is expensive. I wish I can say I had a great deal just once.
My mother and I had more than 24 years together, so that is pretty special huh?

  6. That is wonderful that your mom get to come visit. My mom lives in another country all together!

I can't remember the last time we had a good travel deal, but maybe last month when we traveled.

One of my favorite memories with my mother is sitting down and talking to her for hours when we first met until she fell asleep guiltily :) She really didn't want to fall asleep, but she was exhausted!

    Aloha!
    Enjoy the visit!
