Wild Florida Peacocks!
As a Florida transplant, there is a lot about the wildlife down here I do not know. One thing was that Peacocks run wild in rural parts of Florida! A friend of mine lives way out in the country and hates peacock mating season because the huge birds run around and make crazy sounds all through the day and night! These pictures were taken at a farm called Uncle Donalds Farm. These were NOT part of the farm, they were wild peacocks who call the farm home!! So they were not caged in any way !!! Hope you enjoy!!!

Great pictures, Georgia! =) The best part? I clicked on this link not even knowing it was yours!!!
ReplyDeleteThey run free on farms here but I have never actually seen them in the wild. They do make a sound that sounds a lot like HELP!
ReplyDeleteThe first time I saw a peacock was at a Hari Krisna temple in WV. Their call sounds like a hurt goose! There's a petting zoo farm that raises them close to me so I get to see them all the time. They have a white peacock that is stunning. Last count they owned 20. I love when they try to mate with the chickens..its so funny.
ReplyDeletemy friend said the peacocks who live around her house try to mate with the chickens as well..could you imagine what that combo would make???
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. I love the colors.
ReplyDeleteI love peacocks, they are so colourful.
ReplyDeleteMy CC pic is here
The goat farm across our street has peacocks and their scream is jungle like! We lived in FL for 10 years and enjoyed it.
